From 1 April 2016 all employers must pay all its employees aged 25 and over the national living wage (NLW) rate. This is currently set at £7.20 per hour, with the intention of this rising to a minimum of £9.00 per hour in 2020.
The NLW in effectively another level to the National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate that applies to all workers aged 21 and over.
